FERNANDINA, Fla. -- Not one to worry about. Not two. But three.

Bonnie Tharp, a Fernandina mom, has triple the burden these days.

Her sons, Pfcs. Eddie and Ronnie Davis, and her stepson, Spc. Brandon Tharp, are all serving in the U.S. Army. To her, it's just like three of her own because, she said, she considers her stepson just like a son.

Ronnie Davis has been going back and forth between Kuwait and Iraq.

He said one of the most dangerous aspects of duty now is trying to figure out where IEDs are hidden. Some are even in dead animals, such as donkeys and cows.

Eddie Davis, the one closest now to enemy lines, is in Afghanistan.

And Tharp is at Ft. Bliss, awaiting possible deployment to Afghanistan, just like his brother.

Bonnie Tharp's eyes fill up with tears when she talks about her sons in danger. She's proud, but she just wants to see them back home safely.

Tharp said she tries to hide her emotions when she talks on web camera to Ronnie Davis, but it's hard.

She said he has a special way of showing his love; he always includes a fake rose in a bouquet of roses to his mom.

One of her sons will never use the word "goodbye" on the phone. To him, that's closure he doesn't want.

If you'd like to send words of encouragement to Bonnie Tharp, please leave a comment below.

We're working with Bonnie to make sure all the uplifting thoughts make it to her sons -- and their Army buddies.

Also, if you want to organize care packages for the boys, leave your email below.  Ronnie Davis likes Reese's; Eddie Davis likes Runts candies. And Tharp is happy with homemade goodies as well.

Send Bonnie Tharp an email for her or her sons at
