JACKSONVILLE, Fla. --  Our Hero Bakers would love to have your help. They throw parties once a month at various locations around town for children who are homeless or victims of domestic violence.

Their latest party at Easter gave kids a chance to hunt eggs and eat some traditional sweets.  Our Hero Bakers put together little goodies in Easter baskets for the children.

The children kept saying, "Thank you, Easter Bunny!"

You don't need to be a professional baker. Cake mixes are just fine.  The goal is to make sure every child gets a birthday cake on his birthday.

For more information, or just to say, "Sign me up!" you can email our Hero Baker captain, Ann Hassel at vhassel@sjcfl.us

If you have terrific Hero Baker photos to share on the news, please send them to First Coast News anchor Jeannie Blaylock at jblaylock@firstcoastnews.com

Hero Bakers is one of our Hero Central projects.  First Coast News, the United Way and Publix team up to help people in our area.
