ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- A man was shot in the head and killed outside of a St. Augustine bar Saturday evening after an apparent argument.
The St. Augustine Police Department arrested Christopher Fries, 41. He faces a homicide charge.
Police spokesman Mark Samson said Fries and Paul Crookshank, 29, took a cab together to the Giggling Gator Pub and had a drink inside.
Samson said the two went outside and started arguing. Someone from a nearby business overheard the argument and called police.
Samson explained a police officer arrived at the pub on King Street in downtown St. Augustine shortly after 8:30 p.m. The officer then heard a gunshot and found two men in the parking lot.
Crookshank was shot in the head. He died on the way to the hospital.
