BRUNSWICK, Ga. -- Changing lives with jobs is taking shape in Brunswick. Ex-offenders are being giving a second chance.

Glynn County's Ready for Work initiative is now in full swing. It's starting simple with a car wash.

Ex-offenders are finding opportunities at this car wash that just opened. Too often, offenders say doors are closed.

LeCory Smith is thankful for the chance.

Greater Dimensions Ministry is opening employment doors. Jobs make a difference, according to Brunswick's police chief.

Nine ex-offenders are participating. Smith said drugs got him in trouble. Now, he wants an honest living.

Pastor Ken Adkins, an ex-offender himself, said jobs give hope and help break the cycle of crime.

"Listen, this is what happens with people who do not have opportunity to work -- they either deal or steal," said Adkins.

Adkins said it boils down to either offering jobs or paying for it on the other end, prisons or jails.
