Hutchison is being held held with no bond and the arraignment is set for February 12.
According to the Clay County Sheriff's Office, Hutchison has a criminal record dating back to 2002 that started with citations for careless driving that escalated to arrests for disorderly intoxication, simple battery, and drug possession.
Now, the 29-year-old is charged with second degree murder in the stabbing of 27-year-old Brandon Blansit.
GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla. -- A man is dead after he was stabbed in Clay County during an argument Friday night.
William Arthur Hutchison, 29, was arrested and charged with second degree murder of 27-year old Brandon Blansit, according to Clay County Sheriff's Office.
The fatal stabbing has occurred at the 2200 block of Hidden Waters Dr. West in Green Cove Springs, according to the Clay County Sheriff.
According to police, the two men were roommates in a camper located on property owned by the Hutchison's parents.
The suspect's mother overheard a loud argument from her home nearby and went to the camper around 10:45 p.m. She called 911 after she unsuccessfully tired to break-up the argument.
Blansit was stabbed multiple times with a large steak knife and died at the scene.
The motive is unknown by police.
An investigation is ongoing, according to CCSO.
