The families of the two convicted murders who walked out of prison thanks to forged court documents, pleaded with both men to surrender to law enforcement officials during a press conference Saturday.
Authorities are still conducting a manhunt for the two men - Charles Bernard Walker and Joseph Ivan Jenkins.
Lillie Danzi, the mother of escaped inmate Charles Walker, said that after getting out of jail her son spent the next week with family and appeared at public places, including church, making no attempts to hide.
Henry Pierson, a father figure to Jenkins, also spoke at the brief presser and asked the convicted murderer to turn himself in. On Friday, Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings said Jenkins and Walker are believed to still be in central Florida.
"The most recent information that we have is that these individuals are likely right here, in this immediate community, " adding that the pair had been released due to a system error.
The reward for the capture of the two men was upped to $10,000, and billboards have been posted citywide.
