JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Tuesday Eagle's View made it official that Head Football Coach Ryan Keith turned in his resignation.
First Coast Sports first reported this Monday night on First Coast News at 11 p.m.
In his seven years at Eagle's View Keith compiled a 40-35 record, won three district titles and made four playoff appearances.
Keith was diagnosed with ALS seven years ago and his battle with the disease limited his ability to function in full health.
Terrance Freeman, Principal of Student Affairs released a statement:
"My heart is broken. One of my best friends in coaching has decided to retire. If healthy there is no doubt in my mind that he would stick it out and get us back on track. I respect his decision and honor his time served in the Eagle's View Academy football program."
The school plans to name Keith's replacement prior to the start of Spring practice.
