JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Some community folks are already jumping to get a brand new dental clinic built in Jacksonville. The clinic would serve thousands of low income, uninsured families every year.
Jadee Scarver is hosting an Expo Saturday Night, September 7th, at Bolero's on 10131 Atlantic Boulevard in Jacksonville. The event runs from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Scarver says her goal is to raise $2,000 for the Apple Project for the new dental clinic construction. (If the event raises $2,000 the donation would actually become $4,000! That's because the Weaver Foundation is matching donations.)
The event is open to everyone. The tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door.
Scarver is planning to have belly dancing, red carpet modeling, dancing to the local band, "Juicy Love," and prizes and food.
Friends have been making hundreds of homemade apple cupcakes, which will be selling for $2 each to raise money for the Apple Project.
