BRUNSWICK, Ga. -- The teens charged with murder in the death of 13-month-old Antonio Santiago have been indicted by a Glynn County Grand Jury.

De'Marquise Elkins, 17, and Dominique Lang, 15, will not face the death penalty by law since both were under age 18 at the time of the offense, according to a release from District Attorney Jackie L. Johnson.

Prior to the indictment being announced, Glynn County Police Department Chief Matt Doering explained during a conference call with media that the shooting of Santiago appears to have been a random crime.

The investigation of the case is ongoing, according to the release.

Editorial Note: First Coast News has been careful not to name Lang or show his face until he was formally indicted by a Grand Jury, due to his age.
