The cruisers on Main Street will be heading out again this Saturday night to show off their rides at the Historic Springfield Main Street Cruise. Some have been coming every fourth Saturday of the month since June.
"Look around at the people who are really enjoying each other with no cost to it. Just down here having a good time," says Ronnie Edge who came to the cruise last month. Others are cruising newbies. "We haven't been down here before. Tonight is the first night. It's great," says Terry Anderson.
Many cruised Main Street years ago during high school and hung out at the Krystals. Now, many cruisers like Nellie Gatlin, are returning and reliving those years like. "I met my husband on Main Street," says Gatlin.
Many Springfield residents are excited to see the change in their neighborhood on Saturday nights. "This brings back so many memories that you can't understand it. This is what this area needs to revitalize it," says Steve Choisser, a Springfield resident.
The cruisers encourage folks to wear Halloween costume or dress in Gator or Bulldog gear and would like folks to bring candy for the trick or treaters. Most importantly, they want to remind everyone not to drink and cruise.
