AMELIA ISLAND, Fla. -- Fun! That's how I would describe being a judge at Sunday's Concours.
We had to get up really early to get to Amelia Island on time. I think it was still dark.
I was very excited to be one of the kid judges for the Hagerty Operation Ignite! Youth Judging Program.
There were about 25 of us. We had great close up access to everything.
First, the Hagerty people put us all in red hats and blue shirts.
Then, they took us to five different amazing cars so we could judge them. The categories were: electric, design, paint, interior and motor compartment.
I even got to sit in a car!
My favorite was the Silver Ghost. It was made in 1907.
The tour was fun, but they also included some good history lessons and everyone was very nice.
The last thing was the judging ceremony. The scorecards we used were tallied up to pick 3 top winners.
We got our picture taken with the winning cars.
I met some nice kids. I appreciate that Hagerty let me participate. Now I have homework.
