ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - State legislators will examine several crime-related bills in the upcoming legislative session that could significantly affect how justice is administered in Florida.

One of the proposals is Florida's version of Caylee's Law, which have sprung up in more than a dozen states since Casey Anthony was acquitted of killing her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee Anthony, in July.

The proposed legislation would make it a felony if parents and guardians don't tell authorities when a child is missing or dead within a certain period. Some legal experts and law enforcement officials say the law reaches too far, however.

Lawmakers also will be looking at tweaking Florida's drug law, examining ways to keep juvenile offenders out of detention and helping inmates avoid returning to crime after being released.
