ORLANDO, Fla. -- Casey Anthony doesn't have to answer questions in a defamation lawsuit until the appeal of her criminal charges is over.
An Orange County judge ruled Thursday that Anthony can assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination.
Anthony was acquitted in July of murdering her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee. She is challenging her conviction on four counts of lying to law enforcement.
When Anthony reported Caylee missing in 2008, she told detectives a nanny named Zenaida Fernandez Gonzalez had taken her.
A woman with that same name is now suing her for defamation.
