Donald Smith, 56, is accused of abducting Perrywinkle from a Walmart in Jacksonville
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The judge assigned to preside over the trial for Donald James Smith, the man indicted today in the murder of Cherish Perrywinkle, has recused herself.
Judge Suzanne Bass filed the paperwork Monday in Duval County Court.
Bass's order of recusal says she believes the case should be handled by another division of the county's circuit court.

Chief Judge Donald Moran has reassigned the case to Judge Mallory Cooper, who just filed to recuse herself from overseeing the trial for Michael Dunn, the man accused of shooting and killing 17-year-old Jordan Davis last November.
