JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- It was an emotional night for Rain Perrywinkle, the mother of 8-year-old Cherish Perrywinkle who was kidnapped and murdered back on June 21st.

Thursday she found out about the suspension of several members of the Jacksonville Sheriffs Office, for the mishandling of her daughters case.

About an hour before coming face-to-face with the truth and hopefully some sort of Justice, Perrywinkle opened up about her fears.

"I'm very nervous about going there," said Perrywinkle.

Police say 56-year-old Donald Smith a man she had just met killed her daughter. The response by Officers has been in question since the very beginning. And Perrywinkle would finally get some answers.

"I didn't think that anything any of these people did affected the outcome of the case," said Undersheriff Dwain Senterfitt.

"I respect the police for doing their job but I think if they would have done their jobs faster and not blame me for it in the beginning cherish would be here," said Perrywinkle.
