"Delivery issues" with his high-end line forced style icon Marc Jacobs to switch a few things around this Fashion Week, including the date, time and venue of the show for his lower-priced Marc by Marc Jacobs line.
Usually, the 8 p.m. time slot on the Monday night of Fashion Week is reserved for his eponymous large-scale production, which is the hottest ticket in town. But, this go 'round, he moved the bigger show to Thursday night and bumped Marc by Marc Jacobs up from Tuesday afternoon at 4 and moved it from the Lexington Armory to Lincoln Center.
Some show-goers complained about the move as they made their way into the show, but once inside, everything from the music, to the seating arrangement was classic MJ.
Of course the clothes were classic MJ, as well. Models sporting voluminous, cotton candy-soft hair strut down the runway in '70s-inspired dresses, suits jackets in an array of fabrics and quirky prints. There was also a generous sprinkling of plaid as seen on the female and male models. Several of the guys also modeled shiny suits that had a lounge-lizard feel.
One particular favorite was the striking antique white multi "Marie" bonded tulip dress. The girls also wore chunky pumps in bordeaux, wine, navy and black.
