JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Patti of Jacksonville emailed First Coast News wanting to know why there were no seat belt rules on school buses in Duval County.
FCN Consumer Reporter David Williams talked to Ed Soares, chief of operations support for the Duval County Public Schools.
He told FCN that the district outsources the buses to four different companies. Each one adheres to the seat belt rules per school board policy.
All school buses have seat belts. If they don't, it's a rare exception. Students are required to wear seat belts per policy. Soares also said buses are re-checked monthly.
