Note: Amanda Zitzman is no longer at First Coast News
You can catch Amanda weekday and weekend mornings on First Coast News. The Sunday morning News Anchor, Amanda joins you behind the desk on "Good Morning Jacksonville" starting at 7 a.m. on ABC 25. Then she wakes up with you every weekday morning to get you to work and school on time, as the Traffic Anchor, with LIVE updates every 10 minutes starting at 5 a.m.
Amanda began her career in television news at WJXT when she was just 19 years old and quickly moved up the ranks. She started reporting live at the age of 20, while still attending college full-time, holding titles of Producer and fill-in Traffic/General Assignment Reporter. She also hosted lively entertainment reports for the show's "Star Gazer" segment.
After graduating from the University of North Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism/Electronic Media, Amanda joined the First Coast News team in December 2010 as the Traffic Anchor. Within a year and a half, she was promoted to Sunday morning Anchor.
Some of Amanda's top achievements thus far include an investigation that consistently caught drivers on video dangerously violating school bus stop arms, plus a follow-up report that directly assisted a new safety bill advance in the Florida Senate; and an exclusive interview with a close friend of Casey Anthony at a peak time during Anthony's murder trial. Following Amanda's report, the witness later appeared on Fox News and Nancy Grace.
In her spare time, Amanda enjoys writing her fashion blog, Pinkpolishblog.com; and spending afternoons in the sun with family, friends, and her dog Raphael!
