By Lindy Thackston First Coast News JACKSONVILLE, FL -- Marjorie Modesky remembers the good old days in 4-H. She was in the dairy club in the thirties and became a leader in the sixties. "I had about five or six of my daughter's friends and we got a club started," recalled Marge. Marge has won award after award. She's even a recipient of the Jaguars Community Quarterback Award. Marge loves to help with anything in 4-H that has to do with sewing. In her spare time, she makes blankets for babies at Shands and bags for people in nursing homes to hook onto walkers or wheelchairs. Marge has children and grandchildren, and is a wife to Bill. For Marge, the good old days never ended, but it's getting harder each day. Bill is quite ill now and Marge thinks it's about time to stay home. "In fact, I was just telling my friend Judie that I'm going to be 80 in October and Bill worries about me when I drive because of all the traffic that's in the city, so I don't think it's going to be much longer," said Marge. Her friend Judie can't bear the thought, and not just because Marge bakes cookies for every meeting! "She's the true epitome of learn by doing, and to make the best better," said Judie Toulouse. And that's why we salute Marjorie Modesky as one of 12 Who Care.
