JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. -- A local business owner is extending her generosity to high school students. She's giving away free prom dresses to area teens.
Angie Sparks said it was always her dream to open up a boutique. Now, she has two shops: Rosie True in Riverside and in Jacksonville Beach.
"It doesn't get any better," she said.
Sparks said she's so grateful for all that she has and for the people around her, she felt the need to help others.
She's done countless makeovers for deserving people in the community. She coordinates with salons and donates clothes from her store.
"A little pick-me up," is how she describes the makeovers.
Now, Sparks is donating 10 prom dresses ranging from $100 to $200. The winners will be selected Feb. 20.
Sparks said she's got a lot of good entries so far.
"They're lovely," she said, describing some of the nominations.
Each nomination comes with a short essay. Sparks said that is how they will select the winners.
