Diane O'Meara, the likeness of Manti Te'o's fake girlfriend Lennay Kekua, speaks out.
(USA TODAY) -- Manti Te'o isn't the only one to break his silence this week on the hoax that
has revolved around the Notre Dame linebacker.
Diane O'Meara, the real-life likeness of Te'o's fake girlfriend Lennay Kekua,
appeared on television shows to discussf how her photos were taken and used to
O'Meara said Ronaiah Tuiasosopo, who went to high school with her, had been
silently lifting photos from her Facebook and MySpace accounts for five years.
Then, in December, Tuiasosopo reached out to her to ask for photos holding
specific signs. O'Meara appeared to be out to emphasize that she was tricked
into what could have been considered personal messages and had nothing to do
with the hoax.
Here is the interview she did on CNN's "Anderson Cooper 360," providing what
could be the boilerplate of a convincing social-media privacy speech.
