J.J. Abrams certainly knows how to get people talking.
Yesterday Abrams' production company, Bad Robot, released a mysterious trailer for ... well, nobody is quite sure. The one-minute teaser, titled "Stranger," has gotten more than one million YouTube views in less than 24 hours.
Watch it, then theorize:
In case you missed it, here's the full text of the video:
He arrived knowing nothing of himself. Who is he? Soon he will know. Because what begins at the water shall end there, and what ends there shall once more begin. This is what happens: Men become lost. Men vanish. Men are erased ... and reborn.
People have speculated that this could be promoting a new film, TV series or web series, but right now the consensus seems to be that it's linked to a novel Abrams has co-written with Doug Dorst. We don't know too many details about the book, titled S., although it has been described as a "transmedia experience" and goes on sale in October.
What do you think/hope Abrams has up his sleeve? Are you interested in the book, or are you suspicious of the hype? I hope we don't have to wait long for all to be revealed ...
