Stocks sink, pulling the S&P 500 down from a 5-year high

NEW YORK (AP) - After a strong start to the new year, stocks had a bit of setback yesterday.

The Dow fell 51 points, while the Nasdaq dropped 3 and the S&P 500 back down a little less than 5 points from a five-year high.

Falling stocks outnumbered rising ones on the New York Stock Exchange. Volume was about average at 3.3 billion shares.
