More car buyers are using social media when it comes to picking out their new model and figuring out which dealer will offer be best, a new study finds.

About one out of four of the 2,000 car buyers surveyed say they consider online car review sites to be helpful in picking a place to buy a new vehicle, according to the Automotive Social Media and Reputation Trend Study released by a company called Digital Air Strike, which specializes in such research.

Buyers are depending a lot on reviews they find online. Some 81% say they looked at review scores, and the figure increased compared to the same study six months earlier. The most popular research and review sites are Cars.com; Edmunds.com; Google Plus; Yelp and Yahoo. Facebook was also popular for finding a dealer.
