WOODBURY - A detective with the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office was injured in an accidental shooting outside the county court complex in Woodbury this afternoon.
The detective was in a parking area outside the Gloucester County Justice Complex when his service weapon accidentally discharged, according to the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office. The wound was not life-threatening.
The detective, whose identity is not being released, was taken to Underwood-Memorial Hospital, authorities said.
The incident is under investigation by the prosecutor's office as is required by state Attorney General's Office guidelines.
On December 28, three officers shot and killed a suspect under arrest inside the Gloucester Township police headquarters.
