ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- The St. Augustine Police Department has issued a warning regarding two different attempts of child abduction.
According to a news release from the SAPD, an older white male, between 70 and 80 years old who is described as heavyset and gray-headed, attempted to lure a child into a car while she was walking on Anastasia Blvd.
Police said the suspect is not wearing any glasses nor does he have any facial hair.
He was driving an older model black Audi but officers said they are not sure of its tag number.
Both of the incidents happened around mid-afternoon last week and over the weekend.
"I take [Anastasia Blvd.] everday to and from work so it's pretty crazy to hear about somebody trying to get abducted on it," said Quinn Peterson, a St. Augtustine resident.
Police report that the suspect only made hand gestures to the child but afternoon patrols will increase in the area.
