JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A suspect vehicle is currently being sought by police after a fatal hit and run accident.
On July 3, police responded to a traffic crash near the intersection of of Edgewood Avenue and Vernon Street, according to a Jacksonville Sheriff's Office press release.
An investigation into the accident revealed that a pedestrian, Willie Hodges, was struck while walking across Edgewood Avenue near Vernon Street. The vehicle then fled the scene.
Hodges described the vehicle as a white two-door Chrysler, possibly with a sun roof offset with a visor or wind deflector to authorities. Further investigation revealed that a black male and a black female were in the suspect vehicle at the time of the crash.
Hodges was transported to the hospital with what authorities believed to be non-life threatening injuries at the time. However, Hodges died on July 16.
