JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Police are looking for a person who shot a man standing outside his workplace on Main Street Wednesday morning.

Clarence White, 39, was standing at the gate of Toliver's Used Tire Service facing Main Street when he saw a brown Chevrolet Impala pull out of East 33rd street and head south on Main Street. White said as the car approached the gate, the driver shot 3 to 4 times at him, striking him in the right upper shoulder.

White was taken to Shands Hospital and told police he did not know the man who shot at him.

Bryan White who works at the business told police he heard 3-4 shots but did not see the vehicle. Another witness, Dan Clark, said he was standing on the corner of North Main and 30th and heard 3-4 shots and saw a brown Impala driven by a black male flee the scene west n 30th street.

Police collected two shell casings at the scene. No one was able to get a license plate number.
