JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A jury found a 47-year-old man guilty this week for the 2012 stabbing death of Richard Haddon.
John Byron Swearingen was convicted of murder in the second degree with a weapon.
Swearingen, Haddon and two others were hanging out in the Pirate's Cove beach area in March 2012 when Swearingen became angry with the victim.
Swearingen chased the victim with a knife around and on top of a car before stabbing him in the head.
Swearingen faces up to life in prison and is scheduled to be sentenced the week of January 6, 2014.
