JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- U.S. News & World Report has named UNF a "Best Regional" university in its 2013 "Best Colleges."  The list includes over 1,600 schools across the USA.

This is the second time the university has made the list. Last year, UNF ranked 48. The school raised their rank to 41 this year.

UNF President John Delaney said, "The University has become a destination school that serves its students and the region at a level of national distinction. We can certainly point to the national recognition we have received this part year and our leadership role in the state as evidence of our accomplishments."

UNF has received a multitude of other distinctions lately, including being named one of Kiplinger's Personal Finance's List of 100 Best Values in Public Colleges for 2011-12; Beast College in the South by Forbes Magazine; and one of the 100 "Coolest Schools" by Sierra magazine.

The newest distinction ranks schools against their peer group in their geographic region. The four regions for the judging are North, South, Midwest and West.

U.S. News & World Report Editor Brian Kelly said, "As choosing the right school becomes more complicated and costly each year, U.S. News strives to provide students and families with the best information and tools to help guide them through the college process."
