JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The ink will soon be dry on the contract for the new superintendent of Duval County Public Schools.
Dr. Nikolai Vitti's contract will last from Nov. 12th until June 30th of 2016. The contract's expiration date was moved to June 30th so it would match up with the end of the fiscal year for the school system.

We do not have the final details of the contract yet, but we do know the school board offered Dr. Vitti $275,000 a year. That is the same salary as the current superintendent, Ed Pratt-Dannals.

The school board also did not want Dr. Vitti's contract to include stipends for a car or cell phones or merit increases. That is also the same as the current superintendent.
Ed Pratt-Dannals' contract is set to end this December. During the meeting today, the school board will also vote on an amendment to his employment agreement.
We will update you after the 9 a.m. meeting.
