JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A local teacher's song is getting some attention on YouTube. However, despite it being out there for the world to see, is it wanted attention? A concerned parent sent First Coast News this video of Robert E. Lee math teacher's song, "Dazed and Perks."

The artist, Jason Perry, a.k.a. Jason Plusone, raps about marijuana in the song that was uploaded to YouTube back in October, with the release of the single on October 16th.

On his website www.jasonplusone.com, Perry breaks down his song, saying it mostly describes a friend's quote, "dazed" experience with prescribed Percocet. He also goes on to explain the second verse was inspired by verses from the Bible.

But WorkSource Vice President of Communications, Candace Moody, said social media has severely blurred the line between "private" and "public" lives, which can reflect poorly on anyone's career.

"We get questions a lot about, 'Can my boss fire me for something I did in my private life?' The answer is, 'yes,'" Moody says.

"If it's findable on the internet, if it's public, they absolutely can fire you for things that you've done in your personal life but have become public through social networks."

The video could be shedding light on a bigger issue: The division of personal and professional life.

Moody said the only safe assumption that can be made about security online is that there is none.

She suggests checking with your company's social media policy and setting alerts so you can be notified when your name is used online, using a site such as www.google.com/alerts.

As for Perry, Duval County Public Schools said its teachers are required to abide by the Code of Ethics of the Education Profession in Florida and Human Resources will review the video.
