JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- An unloaded .22 pistol was brought to Arlington Elementary School yesterday.
Marsha Oliver with Duval County Schools confirmed that the unloaded gun was brought to the school, where it was shown to a group of kids. Some of the kids in the group reported the incident to a teacher.
The weapon was not functional, and according to Oliver, the firearm was brought without the intent to harm anyone. However, possession of a firearm is a violation of the Duval County Public Schools 2012-2013 Code of Student Conduct, Class IV Zero Tolerance Offenses.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office investigated and arrested the student, according to Oliver.
