ORANGE PARK, Fla. -- The school year wrapped up at Orange Park Junior High for one class with a limo ride and fine dining.
Patti Hale is retiring as a teacher after 36 years. She places a bigger emphasis on her special needs children whom she says gave her so much love over the years.
"It has been amazing to work with kids like this, they appreciate everything," said Hale on the ride to Town Center with eight of students and four student helpers.
Austin Smith enjoyed the ride in the limo which he says was his first.
"Is it big or little? Big," said Smith when asked by his teacher on the size of the limo as it traveled across town.
The students were treated to lunch courtesy of Capital Grill. While fine dining was on the menu so was having a fun and looking ahead to the new school year in the fall.
"Its been a blessing to teach all of these years," said Hale.
"I would do it all over again," she said.
