KINGSLAND, GA -- The work ethic of an eighth grader at Camden Middle School has impressed not only her teachers, but also her peers. Ansley Whitetree is our Student of the Week.
Ansley is a hard worker no matter what she is doing. In class, her teachers describe her as an overachiever. She does whatever it takes to make straight A's in all of her classes.
"She's very highly motivated. She works to her fullest potential in everything she does in both academically and athletically," said her gifted Language Arts teacher, Dr. Stephanie Thomas.
Ansley is also a talented athlete. She plays soccer on two teams: One, at Camden Middle and the other, at Camden Soccer Club. And that's not all. "I'm in Junior Beta. I've been in band for three years, and I'm in The Builder's Club," said Ansley.
To celebrate her achievements, the school held a little party in Ansley's honor complete with a cake with her picture on it. Everyone was thrilled to be part of the celebration.
"She has a smile on her face all the time and she's always so positive no matter what we're doing. Today for instance she didn't want to have any cake until she made sure everyone had a piece first and that's just Ansley," said Dr. Julia McCollough another one of Ansley's teachers.
Ansely says the reason she works so hard at everything she does is she wants to be a good role model.
