JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- In Sarah Malicoat's room at Sabal Palms Elementary, it's nothing new to see D'Aariah Waller helping her fellow students with math.

"The students look up to D'Aariah a lot," Malicoat explained.

Malicoat calls the fourth-grader one of the most passionate students she's ever met.

"I have never had a student who was so intrinsically motivated to help others in the classroom," Malicoat said.

The students welcome D'Aariah's help, even referring to her as "Miss Waller."

"She's able to put math language into kids' terms to make it easier for other kids to understand," Malicoat said.

D'Aariah even started a math club to help her classmates. "It makes my heart two times bigger to see that people are encouraged and getting good at math," Waller said.

Her friends all think she should be a teacher when she grows up, but she has other plans:

"I either want to be a doctor, a lawyer or a banker," Waller said.

Whatever she decides, she has the heart for success.
