JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Christopher Pack is a student at Christ Church Academy with his sights set on becoming a marine biologist. Though he's only a sophomore, he's working hard to make that dream a reality.
"He's very bright, very articulate, very thorough in all of his work," teacher Becky Goins describes some of Christopher's attributes.
"He's very conscientious, as well. I think he is able to recognize when someone is hurting and offer a word of prayer or just a word of encouragement," she adds.
Friends say Christopher works hard at everything he does, which is quite a lot.
"My academics, my homework keeps me up for long hours into the night, I'm also in the boy scouts and I'm part of an organization called 'Teens for Vets,'" lists Christopher.
Although he has a lot on his plate, friend, Neal Buckles, says Christopher's ability to manage everything and still come out on top is what sets him apart.
"He'll take his school work and he'll excel at it. He'll do it as best as he can. He'll try harder, if he doesn't make it, he'll try harder the next time. He keeps excellIng at his work and excelling at his friends, he's able to juggle everything," he says.
Neal says he has high expectations of what makes a 'good friend,' but says he knows he's found one already. "Because no matter what's happened, or what will happen, Christopher will still be my friend," Neal says with a smile.
Christopher is also a new member of the school's academic decathlon team. The group will start competing in the spring.
