JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A pre-kindergarten teacher at Intercoastal Kids is teaching 4-year-old's how to read, and so much more. Eliza Frank is our Teacher of the Week.
The owner of Intercoastal Kids, Jasmine Provost, can't say enough about her. "Ms. Eliza is a very energetic, loving and devoted teacher."
Provost said Frank is the first teacher at school in the morning and the last to leave at night. She teaches with as much energy and enthusiam as her 4-year-old students, said Provost.
"They're so much fun. This is the age they really try hard. You can teach them a lot of things," said Frank.
Frank has taught for a total of 16 years - 10 years as a Pre-K teacher and six as a kindergarten teacher.
"She teaches the kids something that will last their whole life. She teaches the kids how to write their name and that is a skill you will take where ever you go," said Provost.
Her class is Pre-K, but she is teaching a kindergarten curriculm. She wants her young students to learn how to read and so much more.
Parent Laura Hollingsworth nominated Frank for Teacher of the Week. She said when they were looking for a Pre-K teacher for their daughter, they were impressed.
"When I saw Ms. Eliza, I fell in love with her. The way she managed her class is on the mark. Her energy level was high and smart," said Hollingsworth.
Frank has one big goal in mind for all of her students by the end of the year - she wants to make sure they are all ready for kindergarten.
