JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- We visited AP Psychology teacher Mary Krieger at Stanton College Preparatory School because her students truly wanted her to be recognized.
Meeting Krieger and seeing her in action in the classroom, we can see why her students enjoy her.
Kreiger's students say she not only makes learning fun while helping them understand the material; they say she uses real-life examples students can relate to, while making sure everyone is on the "same page."
Kreiger says the kids inspire her every day.
"I always tell the students it makes me so happy when they come in and tell me about a new movie, like 'Hunger Games'," she explains with a smile, "and how they were able to apply some of the concepts that we talked about in class, in the real life.
"So, it's really awesome."
Her psychology student Lindsay Emerson nominated Kreiger for Teacher of the Week.
"She just makes sure everyone's OK," Lindsay tells us, "She doesn't leave anyone behind and she makes sure everyone is doing the best they can do."
Kreiger says psychology can help with test taking, boosting students' memories, and learning more about themselves; something the kids can take with them as lessons for life.
