JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Pam Adams has been teaching fifth grade students at Crown Point Elementary for eight years. She teaches math, science and social studies.
She takes a hands-on approach to learning, using experiments and large-scale activities.
Her students say her fun projects and sweet personality make learning easy. "She makes everything funny and interesting," says student, Victoria Sosa.
"She's nice and if anybody needs help with something, she's more than happy to help," adds Sharron McGee.
Adams says she loves her job and hopes to be making an impact no her students' lives. "You want them to succeed. Not just in academics but in everyday life," she says. "So, I'm hoping that I'm setting an example and motivating them to want to go to school and be good people and be good citizens."
Both of Adams' sons attended Crown Point. So even before she was in the classroom full-time, she volunteered and worked as a substitute teacher at the school.
