MIAMI (AP) - Rescue crews will continue searching for a man missing in the rubble five-story parking garage that collapsed at a South Florida college, killing two construction workers.
Early Thursday, a man was pulled out alive and taken by helicopter to a Miami trauma center in extremely critical condition. He'd been buried in the rubble since noon Wednesday when the garage collapsed while under construction at Miami Dade College's west campus. An update on his condition was not available Thursday morning.
Witnesses say workers ran screaming as the structure fell around them.
Authorities say seven were taken to the hospital with varying injuries and an eighth was treated at the scene and sent home.
Miami-Dade Fire-Rescue says three people were initially trapped inside.
There was no word on what caused the collapse.
