TALLAHASSEE, Fla. --  Due to technology issues at JPMorgan Chase, Florida Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card holders were not able to use their cards for normal processing at grocery, convenience and other stores that accept EBT cards early Friday afternoon.

Shortly after 1:30 the system was back online, that's according to a Friday afternoon news release from the Florida Department of Children and Families.

The EBT cards are used by recipients of cash and food assistance for purchases in approved stores.

DCF reports that stores can choose to run manual processing of up to $40 while the system is down. Wal-Mart stores have the ability to process manual transactions of up to $100.

The outage began Friday morning around 7 a.m.
