MIAMI -- Good Samaritans are pitching in to help an Orlando family reeling from the death of two young boys.
Felicia Peete adopted four siblings from foster care in 2010. But shortly after moving them into a big new home, her 7-year-old son was diagnosed with Adrenoleukodystrophy, a rare genetic disease that typically strikes young boys and is often fatal.
A few months later her two other sons were diagnosed with the disease. The two oldest boys died months apart this past year, but her 6-year-old son's prognosis is good after a stem cell transplant.
An anonymous donor stepped in this Christmas to pay off $1,700 for one of the boy's outstanding funeral costs. The Department of Children and Families worked with organizations to get the family $600 worth of Christmas presents.
