SANFORD, Fla. -A Stand Your Ground hearing in the George Zimmerman case will not be held in April.

One year ago on this date, 17-year-old Trayvon Martin was killed in Sanford in an altercation with volunteer neighborhood watchman George Zimmerman.

After a hearing Tuesday, Zimmerman's attorney Mark O'Mara told Judge Debra Nelson that he wanted to waive the dates that were set aside for the hearing.

O'Mara previously stated that he hopes to roll the Stand Your Ground hearing into Zimmerman's second-degree murder trial, scheduled for June. He says that remains his desire. The judge has said she's open to that.

Attorneys argued other motions dealing with key evidence in Trayvon Martin's shooting death Wednesday.

Zimmerman's defense team also requested hospital records of Witness 8, a teenage girl, identified as Martin's girlfriend.

The defense claims Witness 8 lied about being too sick and in the hospital to attend Martin's funeral services. The state said Witness 8 admits she lied about that.
