FRUIT COVE, Fla. -- A mid-morning fire caused extensive damage to a Fruit Cove home Wednesday.
Crews with St. Johns County Fire Rescue, along with crews from Jacksonville Fire and Rescue, responded to a residential fire on the 1200 block of Tangerine Drive, according to Jeremy Robshaw with SJCFR.
A call came into SJCFR at 9 a.m. and when crews arrived, they spotted heavy smoke and visible flames on the rear of the 1,800 square-foot home, Robshaw said.
The fire is under control, however the blaze, smoke and water caused extensive damage to the home, according to Robshaw. No injuries have been reported and no pets were involved.
The cause of the fire is under investigation and the residents have been displaced due to the amount of smoke, fire and water damage.
