FORT MYERS, Fla. -- A Fort Myers man was arrested on his second DUI charge in three days Monday after a Lee County corporal says he drunkenly rammed her patrol car.
The corporal stopped at a stop sign at Crystal Drive and Plantation Road when her rear bumper was struck by a Honda CRV. She exited her patrol car, and the car was struck again.
The driver of the Honda CRV was identified as Elliot Thomas Gamble, 29, according to a Lee County Sheriff's Office report. The corporal said Gamble told her he struck her patrol car intentionally because he wanted to kill himself, and he had been drinking.
Deputies found nearly-empty bottles of gin and vodka in Gamble's vehicle, along with an open can of Natural Ice beer, according to the report.
Gamble was placed under arrest on charges of assault on an officer, DUI and criminal mischief.
When a deputy placed Gamble into a patrol car, Gamble announced he was going to "piss himself," according to the report. The deputy asked him multiple times not to do so in the back of the patrol car.
Gamble then urinated on himself in the back of the patrol vehicle, and the deputy told him that was disgusting, according to the report.
Gamble had a blood alcohol content of .237 and .243 in two separate breath tests.
He also was arrested in Lee County on a DUI charge on Saturday, and another DUI charge in 2009.
