LARGO, Fla. (AP) -- Police say a Tampa Bay area toddler is dead after being thrown against a chair and a wall.
The Largo Police Department reports 2-year-old Ananhie Fernandez was brought to All Children's Hospital in critical condition Sunday at about 3 a.m. According to detectives, the boyfriend of the child's mother threw the toddler, causing severe injuries to the chest.
The child died later Sunday.
Twenty-seven-year-old Joel Adrian Cruz has been charged with first-degree murder in the child's death.
