Tallahassee, Florida -- State lawmakers have decided to give drivers a break on one part of Florida's red light camera law.
A red light camera could no longer issue a ticket for right-on-red violations under a bill passed by the Legislature.
Florida's current red light camera law is vague, so some local governments are using the cameras to issue tickets to drivers who roll through a right on red.
Those tickets will no longer be allowed if Gov. Rick Scott signs the bill. If he approves it, the new law would take effect in July, 2014.
