GENEVA, Fla. (WESH) -- His story is nearly unbelievable.
Andrew Hudson says his head was locked inside the mouth of an alligator after an attack while swimming in Little Big Econ State Forest.
"It just came up behind me I didn't see one all day in there and then it just came up behind me and I felt it and I started freaking out and swam as fast as I could," Hudson said.
Andrew's friends called for help as the teen fought back and out swam the gator.
"I'm trying to get out of there I figured out what it was a few seconds after it happened," Hudson said.
With blood flowing from the middle and the side of his head, Andrew's survival mode kicked in.
He took off his shorts and wrapped it around his head to stop the bleeding until paramedics arrived.
His quick thinking helped save his life, but he'll have plenty of scars and stitches as a reminder of the attack.
