WILLISTON, Fla. - A 22-year-old Marion County man was arrested on charges of aggravated child abuse after a 10-week-old was found with a broken arm, detectives said.
Officials said they were called to an Ocala home after the Department of Children and Families said the injury seemed suspicious in nature.
When authorities arrived at the home they spoke with Brandon Fairweather who told them he would not speak with law enforcement on the advice of his attorney.
Investigators said they spoke with the homeowner who said the 10-week-old was crying when Fairweather wrapped the child in a blanket and took him outside.
When Fairweather returned inside the home, he told the homeowner he had to take the child to the hospital because something was wrong with his arm, according to the police report.
Several days after the incident, Fairweather moved out of the home and back in with his mother.
Authorities said there was no other trauma to the child, and the child's injuries were consistent with trauma inflicted by an adult.
Fairweather was arrested.
